Countdown is under way to one of the showpiece events of the postcard calendar – the annual York Card Expo International.
The two-day fair at York Raceourse Grandstand is being held on Friday September 1 (11am-6.30pm) and Saturday September 2 (10-4.30pm).
It has been held in April in previous years, but organiser Jack Stasiak has moved it back this time in the hope of boosting the attendance.
The change of date also gives far more breathing space for buyers and sellers between York and the country’s biggest annual fair, at Shepton Mallet, Somerset, which has traditionally taken place in February.
The many dealers who attended both events had little time to build up their stock because there was only six or so weeks between the two events. Now they are months apart, which should be good news for buyers too.
Top dealers from throughout the UK and overseas will be at York. The full list of sellers was published in the August edition of Picture Postcard Monthly, and an updated list appears in our September issue, which will be received by subscribers between August 22nd-24th.
For details, contact Jack or Felicity Stasiak on 01347 822722.
There is an on-site restaurant.
The following day, on September 3, there’s another big fair at Nottingham – at King’s Meadow Campus (NG7 2NR). Call 0115 9374079 for details.
