DH Lawrence postcard causes new storm

Find out why a postcard signed by DH Lawrence caused a controversy 89 years after the writer’s death – after it was saved from the rubbish tip.

The story appears in the latest issue of Picture Postcard Monthly, the country’s dedicated 56-page a month publication for collectors of old postcards, which has readers in 23 countries outside of the UK.

The September edition of the magazine also includes feature articles on Alpha silk woven postcards, the Nottinghamshire photographer Albert Hindley, the Great Fire at Salonika during World War One, the evolution of Victorian trade cards in the USA and the Welsh photographer Edwin Charles Burn (known as Burns).

We also have a nostalgic look-back at the September 1994 PPM – and the centenary of postcards commemoration.

Plus there are all the usual features including a look at moderns postcards, a lively Postbag (readers’ letters), club news and a four-page special report on what’s hot and what’s not on the postcard auction scene, both online and in the auction houses.
